Bye Beth

In between birthday fun, I attended the bittersweet party for my now former co-worker Beth. (You may remember her from past posts because she and her daughters feed my cats sometimes when I'm gone.) Her last day was Friday, and I discovered I was in denial that she was actually leaving until she packed up her office and all her pictures were in boxes. I'll admit that I wouldn't be upset if just anyone in the office announced that they were leaving - but Beth's announcement made me really sad. Happy for her of course, but you get the idea. We'll keep in touch I think, and I look forward to seeing her in the future!

Anyway, her going away happy hour was a BLAST. We had a good time as was indicated by the fact that we didn't leave Trainwreck until almost 9pm. I enjoyed hanging out with some of my co-workers outside of work and getting to know some people a little better and hearing some stories about days past. I took a picture or two, but decided that I shouldn't post them to protect those who are in them. hehe. Just know that Beth went out in style and everyone had a great time. :)

Birthday shenanagins

I'm 27 now. Significantly closer to 30 than 20. Man I'm getting old.

My birthday was Tuesday (Feb. 16) and it was pretty fantastic. I took off work, so it was a nice relaxed day. I got to sleep in, which I always love, then hung out with Sammy and Sally for awhile on the couch watching the Olympics and daytime tv. I ran a few errands (productive) and got ready for dinner out with Mom, Kristen and Devin. We went to Pasta Bowl in St. Peters. We'd never been there before, so we weren't sure what to expect. The food was pretty good, but in retro spect not where I would have choosen for my birthday. Still a fun time though! Wed. evening I went to dinner with Dad at Faratto's. I got the tortilini and it was amazing. It was almost as good for lunch the next day too, and that's saying something! So two good bday dinners. I also had cake and ice cream at work on Wednesday. To quote Cyndi, "way to drag it out."
The dragging out was not over yet, lol. Sat. night Courtney and I had a joint gathering for our birthdays (hers was the 18th). We had dinner at Growler's and then headed to the Big Bang for dueling pianos and drinks. Good times. :)

Courtney and I at Big Bang

Such a fun time. Just ignore the getting older part.

February is always busy

I may have mentioned this before, but February is one of my notoriously busy months for personal stuff. Though lately it seems like all of my months are busy. Oh well. Anyway, this Feb. has been no exception to the rule. Last weekend I got to hang out with Abi and Gus (see previous post), had a Pampered Chef party, got to hang out with all 3 Ericsons, went to Mike's show and of course a Superbowl party. Whew. It was a lot of fun but a tiring weekend.

This 'weekend' is no ordinary weekend. I am off for 5 DAYS! Yes, I took off Friday and don't go back until after my birthday (Feb. 16 is my birthday, so I go back on the 17th.) WOO-HOO!

Friday was a great start to this birthday vacation. I met my friend Beth for coffee in the morning and had a lovely time chatting about life and her new job. I'm sad we won't be co-workers anymore, but glad we will stay in touch. Since I was up and out of the house bright and early I was at Wal-Mart by like 9:15. I was there for over an hour, but got some things I needed including a baby shower gift for that night. Very productive. I went home for a bit, then to lunch with Phil. Also lots of fun. What a great day this was shaping up to be! After awhile I went home to do a few things. Eventually I headed south to hang out with my mom for a little while and go over to my Aunt Kathy's to pick up her PC stuff (she hosted a catalog show.) Soon it was time for the baby shower and then I was headed home.

Bright and early Sat. morning I headed over to meet up with Kim and Paige for Mardi Gras! I was sooo excited to see them. After everyone arrived (we had a big group) we headed to Denny's for breakfast then made our way to Soulard for the festivities. It was a full day of parades, friends, drinking and fun!

After leaving Soulard we went down to Union Station for dinner. Dinner was eh, but it was such a fun day that I could over-look it. I'm so glad I got to see my girls! Plus it was an added bonus that it wasn't too cold most of the day so we didn't freeze. Score!

Today I am being a lazy bum mostly, but I did get some PC stuff done like setting up my website! You can now go to www.pamperedchef.biz/erinscoolkitchen to order stuff or contact me about that stuff. I'm glad it's done!

I am resigned to the fact that changes are necessary. *sigh* Here we go again...
