Aimee Kathryn Quirin

...was born on 3.27.83. I also had the pleasure of celebrating with her on Saturday. We started at Ice & Fuel in Kirkwood.
We had a good time hanging out and enjoying each other's company. Aimee had a pretty good showing, and was enjoying her rum and cokes. :)
After the bar, we went back to the Quirin's house for apple tarts and drinking games. Cyndi made the dessert, and we sang before Aimee blew out the candles.
It was really fun. I don't have pictures to document the rest of the evening (probably a good thing!) but know that it was a blast. Lots of drinking games and we were up till about 5am. Ah, good times.

Elijah Phillip Bembower

Yesterday, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Elijah Phillip Bembower. It was his first day in the world and I was very excited to meet him. He was born at 1:05 am and weighed 7lbs 4oz and was 19.5 inches long

Eli - so cute
With his parents (!) Dan and Anna

...and of course a few photos with me :)
I got to see him awake and asleep, and got there at the perfect time - I was the only one there - so I got to hold him for like 30 minutes. Very precious. I sang him happy birthday and introduced myself, then after a few minutes he drifted off. I talked with his parents about his birth story and just enjoyed their company. I brought him balloons and newspapers (from the day he was born) and brought his momma gooey butter cake (her fav) and strawberry ice cream from Ted Drewes. She even shared the gooey butter cake with Dan, which I thought was nice.
Overall, a wonderful first meeting. I look forward to watching him grow and develop!

stream of conciousness

I'm loving March Madness, despite the fact that my bracket isn't doing the greatest... Mike's birthday party at Mamacita's last night was an absolute blast! It was great hanging out with everyone... I still love going to trivia on Thursday nights... I got to play with Max for awhile on Friday and he is SUCH a doll - and of course see his parents too :)... My workouts are going pretty good - hopefully I keep it up... I'm hoping to go to New Orleans in May. We'll see if I get the days off... We're getting into the full on busy season at work - lots of working weekends ahead of me... PC stuff is going along fine - I'm excited for Aimee's show on the 29th... Mom and I had dinner at Fandango's the other day for $11.60 total - awesome!...

I'm a busy girl, but things are pretty good. Back to watching basketball.

Woods cuteness

Last weekend I got to see Becky for the first time in over 3 years - and I was SO excited. Becky and I went to Mizzou together and I introduced her to her husband. Her parents live near me, so she's now super close when she comes to visit them.
Becky and Jack
I also got to meet her beautiful boys for the first time, Jack (2 1/2) and Ben (10 months). They are too darn cute.
Jack (such a cute - looks just like his daddy)

Ben

(who looks just like his mom> :) And who I must say was so sweet and socialable he let me hold him after only about 3 minutes of meeting. Wow.)

Next time hopefully it won't be so long!

What I'm up to

I'm a busy girl. Not that I'm doing too much of extreme importance, but I'm often booked on random weeknights for dinner with a friend (which is probably because I love doing that) or a meeting or of course trivia on Thursdays at Tower Pub. So last week was no exception. Kyle came into town for work, so we met up (along with some other people) for dinner/drinks at Growler's. (You're shocked, I know) on Tuesday. I re-joined Curves, so Wed. was my "first" workout to re-introduce me to the machines and teach me about the new stuff. Thursday - trivia. (Yes, I spent 2 weeknights at bars. Could have Wed. too had I gone out to Biggies. Hm.) Friday I went over to Mom's after working out to finalize family vacation plans (Chicago in June/July) and Sat. I had a PC party.

All that was well and good, but the highlight of the week was definately lunch with Lindsey Oliver and hanging out all Sunday afternoon (along with some other fun peeps too.) We went to Saffron, which if you are unaware is an Indian place. The only time I had previously had Indian it was not a good experience so I was a bit nervous. But it was a buffet and I was with seasoned Indian-eaters (that sounds so bad) so it was a good time. The only thing that would have made the afternoon with mimosas at Cyndi's better - if you can imagine such a thing - would have been if the USA had won the gold in hockey. Oh well.

Last night I had my PC monthly meeting and my sister is coming over tonight with Devin (she's on call) - so the packed schedule continues. Life is pretty good. :)
