Recent happenings:

-Went to the lake with Krystal, Julie and Jason.  Had a blast hanging out in the water, drinking and working on my tan.  As a side note, jungle juice should not be that strong.  Oi.

-Took Nellie's girls to the pool last week.  It wasn't ungodly hot and the water was cool enough to feel nice but not so cold the girls wouldn't get in.  They loved it and a fun time was had by all.  It worked great with one of us for each girl - they were a bit clingy until they discovered that they weren't going to drown.  :)

-Went to see Singing in the Rain at the Muny.  Loved it.  Loved it even more because the tickets were free from the United Way/Wells Fargo.  The tap dancing was my favorite part and of course the signature scene where it rains on stage!

-Went to lunch with my dad for his birthday along with some other family.

-Saw Wyndy, Anna's mom and a 2nd one to me, and got to visit for awhile.

-Went to the store and bought Woolite to wash my delicates, etc.  Got home and discovered I had already done this twice.  Apparently I feel the need to buy a new bottle every summer because I now have 3 of them. Ahhh.

Feels like the 4th of July

Independence Day weekend was actually a 5 day affair for me and a much needed break from work.  Friday I hung out with Nellie (see previous post about the s'mores) and after zumba Saturday morning I really didn't do a whole lot else.  I was going to go to the pool for awhile but it was SO hot that I didn't really want to be outside.  My complex pool is not really conducive to lounging in the water since there are many children and their friends around a lot of the time and it was just too hot to not be in the water.  I stayed inside and relaxed and did some cleaning so it was good.  I keep thinking I did something else too but I don't think I did.

Sunday I went to a bbq at my dad's house and it rained really hard so we were all inside instead of out.  Luckily this helped cool things off though!  Cyndi, Lindsey, Dan and I were planning to go to the Maroon 5 concert and fireworks that night down at the Arch but they cancelled them due to the crappy weather.  So we hung out at Dan's for a bit then watched the Webster fireworks show.  I was just happy for fireworks.  :)

Monday (the 4th) I went to a pool party at Sam's parent's house then a bbq at Cyndi's and we walked to fireworks in Kirkwood.  I must say, it was a fantastic show and nice and long.  I think I wore the most uncomfortable pair of flip flops I own though so my feet hurt a bit after walking about a mile there and back.  Poor planning.  It was a good day.  I was really glad to be off Tuesday as well to re-cooperate and get some stuff done around the house.

I took some pictures but I am too lazy to get them off my phone right now.  Sorry.

A little slice of summer

A few pictures that don't really warrant their own post...

I made apple pie for Andy's birthday.  I have never made one by myself before and was quite pleased that it was well received and all got eaten.

My Dad and I on Father's Day

Marine Week in STL - they were in Ballpark Village when Mom and I went to the game.  So we went over to check things out.  I made some new friends.

Mom stood on a tank.

And next to the tricked out jeep.

Us at the ballgame in "our" seats

The pretty sky at sunset that I thought looked like the entrance to Heaven.

And yesterday (Friday) when Nellie and I made s'mores in the kitchen because it was too damn hot to do it outside next to a real fire.

Good thing

I do not have any children at this time.  I think we can all agree that this is a good thing at this time.  Luckily I have friends who have their shit together and are raising adorable little people for me to play with.
